Vacation

Today we’re leaving on a getaway. We’re celebrating Brian’s birthday, and going away on my birthday. On top of getting away from home for a bit, I’m also going to be taking a blogging break. A lot of little changes have been happening in our life right now and the little things are piling up and so I’m going to take a few weeks, maybe months, and deal with those things, work on forgiveness, and getting my heart back.

I’m still going to journal, and maybe one day they’ll be come posts here.

I’ve packed my #shereadstruth soul detox reading plan for while we’re away. My parallel version bible, and during Gray’s naps I plan on just getting back to me and God for a bit. I also packed my copy of Dream Big by Heather to reread.

I’ll be tweeting and posting pictures on instagram once we’re back from vacation. I’m not disappearing completely, just shifting my focus.

The etsy shop is still open. And there will be new products introduced every so often, and I may update you here if I think you might like it.

Substance and Hope - Some Changes

Friday afternoon I had a great chance to chat with my new friend Heather over at Dreaming Big. Heather and I were chatting about blogging and life. I got to meet her little man, and Gray waved at her a few times. I was so blessed by our chat.

We got to talking about what we feel our purpose is with blogging and what we are putting on our blogs for our readers. About how we present ourselves to our readers. About how we take the things we’re living through and the way we present them.

We came to the conclusion that we need to make sure that we’re blogging with substance. That we need to be sure that whatever we’re blogging about that we’re bringing hope to our readers.

So now comes the part that takes work. Living it.

So that being said, there are going to be a few changes around here. Not big ones, but just some things that have really been on my heart these past few days. I’m committing to you that I will blog with purpose and substance. Yes there might be a few wordless Wednesdays thrown in, and updates about Gray, but I will start blogging my heart more. I will let you all in a bit more to what God is putting on my heart and doing in my life more.

So now it begins. I may not be posting as often, but I will be posting with more purpose. I hope that through my post and my blog I’m able to give hope to one person, to help one person.

Giving up the good - Goodness!

For the first 12 months of Gray’s life I produced every ounce of nutrition that boy had (other than IV nutrients and 15cc’s of formula on day one). Gray had 100% breast milk and at 8 months when we started solid food, I made every bite. I made the oatmeal, the squash, the chicken, everything.

When Gray reached a year corrected (a year after his due date) we had transitioned to cow’s milk, but Brian and I were making everything else.

The last few weeks of life has been a bit crazy, and to be honest Gray has been driving me a bit crazy in the food department. He does not want to eat from a spoon at all! He only wants to feed himself. Which is not as easy when he’s not able to eat everything, only has 4 teeth, and they don’t even match up, and we have to be oh so careful about what he does eat.

So I’ve given up the good a bit, just a bit. And the past little bit, Grayson has fallen in love with hotdogs.  All white meat chicken hotdogs. But to be honest it has lifted a bit of stress during mealtimes. So as much as I love making all his food, I am so happy that once in a while I don’t have to fight Gray to have him eat something.

I’m linking up with Jessi and Hayley today about giving up the good. Giving up on something for the greater good. Go check out the girls stories and realizations.

Yup – you read that right!!

When I redid my blog design earlier this year, I loved it! And then a friend of mine asked me to design some buttons for her blog, how could I say no.

And then my good friend recommended me to someone for blog design on twitter, and things just happened.

My first blog design (other than my own) is launching this weekend and I have love love LOVED working with the client. And I can't wait to do it again and again.

So we’re making it official. babEblessings blog design is now open. Blog buttons to full blog designs.

More details will be available tomorrow but I have a treat for some of you.

A full blog overhaul will be $150.00, however the first 5 people to email me before May 20th, 2012 will get their blog design for $100.00. This time last year - Worless Wednessday

I was looking through old pictures this week and came across this one. This time last year my sister threw Grayson and gorgeous baby shower. And she let us bring some of the flowers home to enjoy that week. Gray loved sitting on the table just talking to the flowers.

I can't believe how big he's gotten!

10-4 Good Buddy

I have read Abby's 10-4 posts for the last few  months and always promise myself that I will do it. And well this is the first one.

If you haven't been to Abby's blog before please make sure you go. She has such a huge heart!! And I love how she expresses her love for God and her family. They are hoping to expand their family soon, and would love your prayers. Check out her post here for mroe details.

Well here we go - my 10-4 good buddy answers for May.

1. What is one quirky thing about you?
I have to have sour cream with steak or roast – not sure why but it isn’t the same without it.
2. What does your perfect date look like?  {Not the person...the activity}
Perfect date would be a nice spring/summer day on the golf course with no one around but Brian. I love Golf but I’m too nervous around others. Plus playing a round of golf gives us lots of time to talk and be silly and be us
3. What is your favorite picture from last month {April}?
Brian's step mom had given Gray a little chocolate covered marshmellow bunny for easter, and we let him eat it. This is the after math. (which reminds me that I need to get that video up for you to see!)

4. What are your top 3 favorite TV shows?
That is a tough one. I have a slight tv addiction. I would have to say Grey’s Anatomy (can’t believe it’s over soon), Big Bang Theory, and oh – how do I choose a third!?!?! Let’s say Amazing Race since it’s one of the only shows Brian and I can agree on
5. What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Well golf, but that hasn’t happened much – not sure I’ve even blogged about it, but I love going for bike rides as a family, or walks. We took the long way to get the mail last week, it took us an hour!
6. What is the last movie you saw?
In the theatre? Umm Sherlock Holms, the second one that came out this Christmas. Yup, we don’t get out much
7. Look up from your computer right now.  What is the first thing you saw?
Our back yard, and laundry hanging on our clothes line.
8. What area in your life are you working on improving right now?
My attitude when it comes to putting others first. I have no problem with putting Brian or Gray before me, but sometimes my attitude isn’t proper, and if you don’t have the proper heart and attitude behind it then there isn’t really a point in doing it.
9.  What is your favorite post that you wrote last month?
Hard to choose – so I chose two.
10. What would be your dream job?
I think I’m doing it. I love being Gray’s full time momma. And I’m doing a bit og design work on the side. I’m launching soon, so keep an eye out.
